Welcome to the 31st century! Matt Groening and David X. Cohen team up with Kidrobot to bring all your favorite Planet Express employees to vinyl. From the cryogenically frozen Fry to the ancient Dr. Zoidberg, 12 iconic characters, including 2 chases, are coming at you blind boxed on August 13. Each 3-inch figure retails for $8.95.

Artist: Matt Groening is the creator and executive producer of THE SIMPSONS and FUTURAMA. He has received multiple Emmys for his work in television. Groening is also creator of the popular comic strip Life in Hell. Groening has won 11 Primetime Emmy Awards, ten for The Simpsons and one for Futurama as well as a British Comedy Award for "outstanding contribution to comedy" in 2004. In 2002, he won the National Cartoonist Society Reuben Award for his work on Life in Hell.

David X. Cohen is the executive producer of FUTURAMA. Cohen previously spent five years as a writer for The Simpsons, and holds a Masters degree in Theoretical Computer Science from U.C. Berkeley, as well as a Bachelors degree in Physics from Harvard University, where he served as President of the Harvard Lampoon humor magazine. He has received three Emmy Awards, two Annie Awards, and zero Nobel Prizes for his work.

Today, Kozik's main artistic focus is in the design and production of vinyl toys.

The girls all loved his limbs and knees,
For no one else had legs like these,
But jealousy arose with some,

So late one night upon his slumber,

Darkness drenched with rain and thunder.

There he slept and dreamt of blondes,
But when he woke HIS LEGS WERE GONE!

Who would do this tragic thing?
What good is a bee if a bee cannot sting?

And what good is HE without legs at all?
Now he cannot move and he’s not that tall!

So he hopped on the back of his bestest friend,

And together they ride as he seeks his REVENGE!

The walrus rider is approximately 11” tall and has bendy arms and a removable tusk (which fits into the rider’s hand).

Backstory: The concept for Kidrobot 17: Sgt. Robot was brought about by Dave White’s love for playing with toy soldiers and making models as a kid. Dave hated how his models came painted in pristine condition, so he would rough them up with scratches, dints, mud, rust and bullet holes to make them look as though they’d emerged from the trenches.

Artist: Dave White’s paintings have been featured alongside David Hockney and Picasso and are currently in the private collections of some of the biggest corporations in the world. In 2002, he famously painted a series of sneakers in a pop art style.

Many a contemporary "lowbrow" artist cite The Pizz as one of
their major influences.

From The Pizz himself:
"Eyegore was birthed in a painting displayed in the Laguna Art Museum's "Kustom Kulture" exhibition. The piece was named "A Salute To The Holy Trinity Of Von Dutch, Ed "Big Daddy" Roth and Robt. Wms" back in 1992. Featuring a little chrome eyeball dude, he's an amalgamation of the three hot-rod maestros' various signature creations and stylistic calling cards, so we got Dutch's Flying Eyeball and Roth's Rat Fink and William's Cootchy Cootie, with a heavy mix of the three's cult-like Wehrmacht obsession and the overabundance of chromage. He also harkens to my creation for the Sympathy For The Record Industry's "Eldridge Cleaver" character same hob-nailed biker boots and WWI-era StahlHelm." Eyegore was sculpted by Ray Brown.

These have more of a character/monster feel and although the word "kaiju" has been used i'm kinda failing to see it in some of these figures. Dan Goodsell is an artist living in Los Angeles. His artwork chronicles the World of Mr Toast which is inhabited by an odd assortment of characters including Mr. Toast, Joe the Egg, Lemonhead and Shaky Bacon. Some people suspect that Dr. Destruction isn't really French. While it is true that he has no qualms sipping American brewed coffee, his reputation as a flip-flopping back-stabbing surrenderer cements his country of origin. His skull adorned cane hides a sharp blade that, he claims, killed the fifth member of LES FORMIDABLES: the one who mocked Jerry Lewis. Destruction uses this very sharp blade every morning to spread brie on his baguette.

Helpful Hints on the DIY Munnys

hello diy munny designers,

I found this info online and thought i should post it.
If any of you also have any helpful tips, please post your
ideas on this thread?



(1) After you take Munny out of the box, wash it with soap & water.
Before you begin painting, lightly sand and then prime your Munny.
It is very important that you prime your Munny before painting it!
You can paint your Munny using anything you like!
